Cerf Home, Chestnut Hill

When the round patio/fire pit area was added in 2017 by SHD, Leslie's (former Coordinator of Volunteers at Awbury Arboretum) design concept was to surround the patio with a band of meadow native plants to create the feeling of sitting in a meadow while on the patio.

As seen in the photos, the patio has been brought to life with a wide range of ‘meadow’ plants from Archewilde Nursery, planted from landscape plugs in fall 2017 and spring 2018. Also included were Daffodils and Tutti Frutti Tulips for spring color and fun.

Blueberry shrubs were added to the front in 2018, as well as Pink Astilbe, Amsonia 'Blue Ice', Cinnamon fern, Goatsbeard, (Aruncus dioicous), among others to enhance the beds on either side of the front door. Fall containers were done by Nicole Jackson for the Christmas tour. It is our hope to continue to work with the Cerfs for many years to come.
